The Ayrshire Coastal Path runs from the ferry port of Stranraer north through South Ayrshire and on as far Skelmorlie. This relatively new long distance path in Scotland is gaining in popularity as it has everything to offer the walker. Wonderful scenery, fascinating history with a plethora of castles en route and amazing natural highlights both in Wildlife and Geology.
